James “Jamie” Boswell Howard, born in New York City, was a multi-disciplined artist who created works in sculpture, oil painting, watercolor, and printmaking. He was the creator of Sommerville, an imaginary place in which several characters reside. Each of these characters produce work through which Jamie Howard has brought into our physical world.

His work has been exhibited in Paris, Brisbane, Guatemala City, Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Birmingham, Los Angeles, New York City, New Orleans, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C.

 

Collection Info

The Jamie Howard Art Collection consists of numerous pieces that were once lost or unaccounted for. It has been the mission of the artist’s son, Seth Howard III, to find these works of art and share them with the public.

Currently the collection contains over 400 works including; oil paintings, watercolors, intaglio prints, monotypes, sculptures, writings, tools, curios and ephemera from the career of Jamie Howard.
